About Better Mobility

A friendly face and a wealth of experience greet visitors to Better Mobility. The Clevedon-based shop stocks everything for those who find it difficult getting around the home or to the shops, and anyone who needs help coping with a disability.

Better Mobility offers a large selection of mobility aids, rise and recline chairs, mobility scooters and wheelchairs, all of which have been designed to make life easier.

The shop is owned by Bryan Dickinson who worked for seven years in a company which made specialist beds to turn patients. Here he gained valuable experience dealing with people with many different disabilities and conditions and worked alongside occupational therapists demonstrating the equipment.

In 2003, he was offered a job managing four mobility shops, again building on his experience in the industry. In 2004, he decided to open his own mobility shop and has been trading in Clevedon ever since.

Bryan is no stranger to personal experience in his chosen field either, having had two family members with motor neurone disease. He also has a daughter who has had major spinal surgery. 

“This has helped me realise the importance of the very best equipment for improving the quality of people’s lives,” he said.
